embers | design

This design project was completed as part of a college assignment during my studies at Humber College. The objective of the assignment was to conceptualize and design an original album cover for an existing musical artist.

I chose the alternative metal band Deftones and imagined a fictional album called Embers
The concept pulled inspiration from the band’s atmospheric sound, emotional weight, and darker visual vibe. The idea was to capture that moody, textured feeling their music often carries while still putting my own spin on the concept.

The artwork itself was created in Adobe Photoshop, where I played around with layering, lighting, and composition to build the final look.

While it might not be my strongest piece today, the project was still a great opportunity to experiment with combining music and visual design. It helped me develop skills in concept creation, digital tools, and visual storytelling; and it was fun imagining what a brand-new Deftones album might look like sitting on a record store shelf.
